BOOK SPOTLIGHT: Beneath Manhattan Skies by Emma Meade #newadult #fantasy #supernatural

21st November 2013 By Shah Wharton 8 Comments

Today I have the lovely Emma Meade for her third visit.  She visited a while ago with her YA novel: Under The Desert Moon, with book feature & interview. She came back again with “End of the Line” a paranormal short story . Today she's back with a supernatural new adult novella. Read on for the spotlight and a teaser.  Beneath Manhattan Skies by Emma Meade November in New York is cold but full of possibility for college freshman Erin Harris. When her twin brother, Nick, shows … [Read more...]

Progression & Hosting Changes: #ROW80 & #NaNoWriMo Updates 25/11

25th November 2012 By Shah Wharton 2 Comments

Welcome back all you Thanksgiving peeps. Did you enjoy your turkey and ham celebrations? Being a Brit, living in Dubai, I don't partake myself, but I still spent a little time looking around me, missing the hubs who's away at work, playing with the ever insistent pest that is Bobby, and I felt grateful for my lot. I smiled a lot yesterday. I had that silly giggly feeling and felt inside as if I'd been covered in a thick layer of hot custard: Warm, sweet and yummy. Today, I'm feeling … [Read more...]

Disappointing #ROW80 & #NaNoWriMo Updates 21/11

21st November 2012 By Shah Wharton 12 Comments

King Bobby - Love this picture.

#ROW80 / #NaNoWriMo Updates Writing:  I received more of my editors notes since last update a week ago and I have been working on the comments and suggestions, accepting the changes and making others. She confessed she might have to take till the end of the month to complete however, as her original prediction of 20th November was a little conservative. I did wonder, its a 125k MS after all. This is still EXCELLENT because along with the chunks of work she's sending as she completes … [Read more...]

A quandary PLUS #ROW80 & #NaNoWriMo Updates 14/11

14th November 2012 By Shah Wharton 3 Comments

#NaNoWriMo

Quandary? It's nothing too problematic, more a question of ethics really. A question of whether I have any, and if so, how much do they cost? You see, every now and again I get offers from advertising companies who'd like to pay me for advertising their product on my blog. I'm sure you've all received the same thing if you are a fellow blogger. Sounds great? But so far, the randomness of their product has meant I said no thanks... I didn't want to back anything on my author/bookish blog which … [Read more...]

Finding Esta Promo Images

First I'll do my meme post, then I'll do my updates in brief. I'll try not to keep you too long :)Hurrah! Last week I was tagged by the very talented Ruth Nestvold, so I'm supposed  to explain to your all why my novel is going to be the Next Big Thing.  No pressure then :DThis meme is a great way to show off your own WIP's and to find other's who have something they want to share. Their latest WIP is also a prospective introduction to what they've already done. So, first thing for me to … [Read more...]

Dread: A Horror Collection

This is a deeply unsettling collection of British horror. Each story features a post-apocalyptic theme, though each is starkly different from the other.

A Slow Burn:
“I will admit to having read this with the lights well and truly on!! Such vivid imagery[…]I highly recommend this novella to all lovers of this genre.”

The Dead Party:
“One of the best political satires that I’ve come across in a long time!”

Rosa and Bella’s Journal Of Decline:
“Brilliant and addictive. Yet another fantastic book from this author.”
