Almost back… #ROW80 Updates (kind of)

15th September 2012 By Shah Wharton 15 Comments

Neices and Nephews and a limo

Hi everyone - I've been missing from ROW80 for a week or so because I've been to UK for a wonderful wedding and family visit. I'm going to blog a bit about this visit over the next week or so, including video and pictures. For now, regarding ROW80 updates, all I can say is I received one more beta reader's feedback which was superb. I tried to work on my MS during the drive to and from Scotland (although returning was less successful because we stopped off at hubbies place of birth to visit … [Read more...]

Unpacking & #ROW80 Updates – R3-29/8

29th August 2012 By Shah Wharton 12 Comments

Hurrah - the fridge was collected and our new one, delivered. It's absolutely huge! And it's the right one this time. :) The TV guy just came and we are online and the TV is working a treat. All is good with the world again. Oh, and the A/C guys finally accepted there were issues and found there was not enough gas (or something?) and so topped up the levels and now, I can sit in my lounge and not sweat myself into a fleshy drought. Marvelous! We also got a bottle of wine and welcome to the … [Read more...]

Packing & #Row80 Updates – R3-22/8

22nd August 2012 By Shah Wharton 8 Comments

Hello ROWers.I'm afraid this will be a quickie update - I'm in the middle of packing up this place to move it to the next. Ground-hog Day. It takes around a week to effectively pack, move, close down all the amenities, open all the new amenities, get the movers in, load up, unload the other end, then begin to unpack everything. And we've begun. *Groan*.We're hoping to have it all done by the 4-5th September when we'll be travelling to UK, for a visit but mainly to see my niece get wed in … [Read more...]

Book Trailers & #Row80 Updates – R3-15/8

15th August 2012 By Shah Wharton 21 Comments

Firstly, sorry I missed last update. That's two this round and I'm not too chuffed with myself. But I've been either busy or exhausted and there's little I can do about that. You will have noticed I have made three (yes, excessive) book trailers. The first (I replaced the 1st one with the 2nd one) recieved lost of great feedback, which I used to inform me about the second one. A bit more feedback and a nagging doubt made me make another. I know, but I hope to improve and will only do so with … [Read more...]

New Villas & Dogs #Row80 Updates – R3-08/8

8th August 2012 By Shah Wharton 8 Comments

We visited countless villas lately, but finally found one we liked the feel of and could afford. We get a living allowance and wanted to cover rent, bills and keep a little towards savings, so we have managed all that with the property we chose. It's all paid for and we'll be moving over in the next few weeks before we travel to UK for my nieces wedding. We leave for UK 5th September. More upheaval, more moving (we've moved house every year since 2004). We will stay in this villa for at least … [Read more...]

#Health & #Fitness Goals & #Row80 Update – R3-25/7 Still #amediting

25th July 2012 By Shah Wharton 12 Comments

Physical health: I've made quite a bit of headway on non-goals over the past week, which has slowed down my editing progress. As has having my house guest, although he's largely a non-distraction, bless him: (17 yrs old, work experience in Dubai!).Because of the recent pre-diabetes diagnosis, I've got right into low GI/Carb foods, exercising every other day (building myself up slowly, but feeling the benefits). I also have a programme to begin with the diabetic nurse, at some point. I … [Read more...]

Dread: A Horror Collection

This is a deeply unsettling collection of British horror. Each story features a post-apocalyptic theme, though each is starkly different from the other.

A Slow Burn:
“I will admit to having read this with the lights well and truly on!! Such vivid imagery[…]I highly recommend this novella to all lovers of this genre.”

The Dead Party:
“One of the best political satires that I’ve come across in a long time!”

Rosa and Bella’s Journal Of Decline:
“Brilliant and addictive. Yet another fantastic book from this author.”
