Celebrating the Small Things: Creative Non-Fiction (Lesson 1) #Writing #AmWriting

Celebrate The Small Things

Lexa Cain is the wonderful host of this meme, so start there. Go HERE to sign up and find the other hoppers.  Then each Friday, post on your blog something you wish to celebrate achieving / doing that week.

Here’s mine . . .

Being a hobo sucks!

Hello everyone.

I'm writing this from my in-laws, where I've been for a week and will stay until Saturday afternoon when I fly off to the Costa Blanca region of Spain to see my mum for two weeks.

Mum lives near La Horadada

We are STILL waiting for the bank to pull their thumbs from their *!$!! and agree to the mortgage so that we can get the house purchase under way. It should have been fast-tracked (because it was all agreed for the other house which we couldn't go ahead with because it has subsidence), but some jobsworth decided to put our application to the back of some queue at the underwriters.

At this point, we're expected to be living with the in-laws for months to come. *Sob!!!

So what am I celebrating this week? Two weeks in Spain (while hubs is away working and Bobby is on his holibobs at the kennels)... It's a couple of weeks away from the in-laws, at least! I'm sure they'll appreciate two weeks away from me and getting their house back, too.

On my return, I'm hoping to celebrate mortgage approval, and finally sending the surveyor to the new house for our report! Fingers crossed this one doesn't have subsidence as well.

What are you celebrating this weekend?

You might be one of the older ones in the class, but you bring experience to the table.
Good luck with all of your courses and I hope you learn a ton that you can use.

Good for you for going back to school. I can’t imagine how hard that is, but I’m sure you’ll be in the full swing soon. Good luck!

How frustrating that the admin is so irresponsible and clueless. At least you made it to your class. I hope the financial things work themselves out quickly. I’m very impressed you’re learning so much and with an eye to expanding your ghost writing business. Go you!

Sorry to hear about all the admin errors. What a pain. I hope they get your financial and other stuff sorted out quickly. Thank you for sharing what you’re learning! And thanks for all the great book recommendations. More for my TBR list!

We Need To Talk About Kevin is one of my all time favorite books. The voice of the mc is so strong.

Dread: A Horror Collection

This is a deeply unsettling collection of British horror. Each story features a post-apocalyptic theme, though each is starkly different from the other.

A Slow Burn:
“I will admit to having read this with the lights well and truly on!! Such vivid imagery[…]I highly recommend this novella to all lovers of this genre.”

The Dead Party:
“One of the best political satires that I’ve come across in a long time!”

Rosa and Bella’s Journal Of Decline:
“Brilliant and addictive. Yet another fantastic book from this author.”
