Right, well my insecurity today (one of many) is my author blog theme. Does it represent me well, or is it too cluttered, girlie, pink!? I love most of it, but there are other things I hate. Third-party plugin pages go to a page without a background. Hate that. Even the Jetpack Testimonials boxes go the same background-less pages. Hate it! And I’ve always hated the left sidebar, which is also missing a background. Grrr. I’ve also had this one a while and well, after spending a day of to renovating my uncle’s website, I looked at mine afresh and thought – bleh! Then, I came across Genesis’s new Author Pro theme.
“Author Pro helps published authors like you build a better online library of books with its intuitive design and powerful functionality.”

Because I’m a returning customer to StudioPress and use their Genesis Framework and child themes (this is the Debut theme), it would only cost $33.71 for Author Pro.
So I thought ‘sod it’ and bought it. 🙂
Of course, now I have to apply it to WordPress, incorporating al of my site’s pages/posts/widgets/links/ etc, which means a lot of work moving things around and inputting information, and all of those annoying little tasks. But I’m vert excited about the new look. It will be quite different to how it is now; more accessible, cleaner, more professional.
Tomorrow, a maintenance screen will show up at my website URL until it’s done. I’ve given myself till next Monday. Four days
should will be enough time to get everything sorted.
[UPDATE: New them ready before time on 9th May!]
Please come back and let me know your thought! Hopefully my insecurities about my site will be banished. 🙂
Now I’m off to catch up with some of the other insecure writers.
