Hello everyone. Celebrate the Small Things. To be part of this blog hop, all you have to do is put your name on the linky list on Lexa’s Blog, and then post every Friday about something you’re grateful for that week. It can be about writing or family or school or general life. This is the funnest and easiest blog hop ever! (Originated by VikLit)
I’m celebrating a few things today:
1) Happy birthday to me (happy birthday to me) for my 43rd year tomorrow!
And HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my adorable niece…
…who is two tomorrow! 🙂 I can’t make her birthday party because I don’t drive (yet), and my husband is away training for his new job so won’t be able to take me. Gutting.
Leads me onto a non-celebration: I’ve hardly seen him for weeks and won’t see him at all for weeks to come. He’s trying to stamp his foot about coming home for a few hours tomorrow night, for my birthday. But that’s a two hundred PLUS miles round trip. We’ll see.
2) I finally got my taxes sorted out, so no more withholding 30% of my earnings! What finally propelled me into doing this? Two things – 1) because I sold quite a few of A Slow Burn on B&N, but received hardly any money for them. GRRR! 2) I found out I could use my UK NI number instead of trying to fight with TAX officials in the US for EIN or the other number. Hurrah! Finally, a little sense 🙂
3) Did I mention my horror novella, A Slow Burn is doing quite well on B&N? 🙂 This was me when I saw my sales figures on D2D.
No, I’m no best seller, but hey, I’m at least selling. I’ve been a zombie on all sales distributors but Amazon (and Amazon lately), so this is awesome. People know I’m there 🙂 To see a sudden unpromoted boost made me wide-eyed, what can I say? I’ve also recently had a few review requests for my other stories too, so I’m hoping they like them and actually do review them. They all need reviews, so if you’d like to read and review any, just let me know 🙂
4) My mum came to visit the UK recently and stayed with us for an evening, and together we caught up with our extended family at a local pub. Always good to catch up. 🙂
This is my mum with her boyfriend at a Rock Night event where they live in Spain. I love this picture.Yes, she’s beautiful, and he’s wearing an Ozzie wig 🙂
Okay, well that’s me for this week. I imagine y’all will be busy and exhausted with your A to Z Challenge, which I hope you’re enjoying. See you on the hop and here again next week. Until then, keep writing and celebrating. 😀
