Hello everyone. Celebrate the Small Things. To be part of this blog hop, all you have to do is put your name on the linky list on Lexa’s Blog, and then post every Friday about something you’re grateful for that week. It can be about writing or family or school or general life. This is the funnest and easiest blog hop ever! (Originated by VikLit)
What I’m celebrating:
1) Actually getting my act together and getting my CTST’s post up on time!!!
2) After an awful January, health-wise, I’m beginning to see the light. What happened? Well, I had a nasty mood slump a couple of weeks ago and immediately increased my bipolar medication, as is my practice, to alleviate the depression. There’s no point in arguing with bipolar disorder. If it swings, you medicate! Worse still, it was during a 12 day absence of Hubstar (away for work), which only added to the slump.
Meanwhile, my throat hurt and I felt incredibly lethargic, so I presumed I was hit by a virus too. I also had my blood tested (Hashimoto’s disease was diagnosed during my four years in Dubai, and I needed that diagnosis on my UK NHS records) and my doc called a week later asking me to go see him. Long story short, my mood slump was most likely caused by a massive drop in my thyroid productivity. I’d managed it well on 50ml Thyroxin for four years (a low dose), but apparently, that’s no longer enough. So he added another 25ml Thyroxin to my normal regimen and will get my levels rechecked in a few months. Unfortunately, I suspect I’ll need even more because my thyroid is still swollen, my throat is still sore, and I’m incredibly tired and grumpy and teary… sigh! But at least I’m on the way to recovery.
3) Hubby had an interview for his dream job in November last year. He got a message offering him the job a few days later, and we danced a jig. 🙂 Then a few days after that, he received another email telling him they’d send him a date for the SECOND INTERVIEW as soon as they had one.
Hubs HATEs being in Dubai, even more since Bobby and I moved back to UK (at his request I might add), but this new job is based in UK, so he can actually live with us. Yes, yes, yes! Then, before the date came through for the second interview, they sent a provisional start date for the end of March? This meant he HAD to hand in his resignation to his current job (3 months minimum is required) before Christmas, WITHOUT a contract for this new job.
We have been stressed to say the least!
After checking his emails everyday since–eagerly, a hum of panic in our bellies–he finally received word on Tuesday that his second interview takes place Friday – TODAY – so please cross your fingers and send positive thoughts out to the universe for us.
There will be MASSIVE celebrations if he pulls this off. Till then, I’m doing this face….
Okay, well that’s me for this week. See you on the hop and here again next week. Until then, keep writing and celebrating. 😀
