Garrison Kiellor, American author said, “A lovely thing about Christmas is that it is compulsory, like a thunderstorm, and we all go through it together.”
So Christmas is literally days away and the end of another year dawns. And hey, who knows, today the world might end! That would suck as I’ve finally published my book, but hey, if not, it’s a busy time. Mostly consisting of last minute shopping, giving out greeting cards, wrapping gifts, and buying party dresses (which make us feel fat and old in my experience) to wear to celebrations of another years close. We start thinking of seeing family, of the friends we don’t see nearly enough, and we even make promises we probably can’t keep.
But I do love this time of year, don’t you?
Around the blogosphere, I’ve seen many of you telling us of your favourites on TV/or tunes. So here are mine:
MOVIES:
A Wonderful Life
National Lampoons Christmas Vacation
The Holiday
Love Actually
TUNES
Fairytale of New York
White Christmas
Do They Know Its Christmastime At All (Is that the chorus or the actual title?)
My hubs is working away for several days over Christmas
Bobby and I will miss him something rotten on Christmas Eve/Day, but at least we get to go back to see family and friends in UK 28th December till 1st Jan. Then we’re off to USA till 14th January 2013.
What are you up to for Christmas?
What else is happening? Well, I’m a sponsor for the first round of ROW80 in 2013! Yey! Looking forward to that.
And although I wrote a post on this a few days ago, I’d be a fool not to mention it again now – especially as the giveaway begins today!
